Barrie Shepley, has been Canada’s National Triathlon Team coach since 1991, the year he founded Personal Best. In that time Barrie has coached over 500 people to national championship titles, Pan American Games medals, World Championship medals as well as successful completion of the Hawaii Ironman and the Boston Marathon. Barrie was selected to go to the 2000 Sydney Olympics where Triathlon made its debut as a full medal sport. Canada won the gold medal in the men’s event, a performance no one will ever forget. This season, Barrie will be designing Canada Get Fit’s programs incorporating his knowledge of optimal training techniques and injury prevention for athletes across the spectrum of ability.
Petrina Tulissi, has been racing her bikes for the past 14 years on pavement, the velodrome, singletrack, cyclocross, and Ironman triathlons. As a coach at the National Cycling Training and Development Centre in Calgary, she created a fun and motivating environment for the group sessions and developed athletes towards professional and Olympic success. Her passion for cycling led Petrina to found the Cycling Centre with the goal of taking the social atmosphere and positive challenge of group riding indoors, giving athletes of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and focus, an opportunity to train with guidance over the winter so they can continue to improve their speed, strength, endurance, and agility. As founder, Petrina is excited to bring these experiences to the Canada Get Fit’s Centurion program.
